Torture is an evil thing. There are, however, many tortured people in the world outside Guantánamo Bay. (Some are right outside, in Cuba.) These people are innocent of any wrongdoing or suspicion of wrongdoing or knowledge of wrong-doers or even of capacity to do wrong.
The terms "liberal" and "conservative" are bandied about by many who fail to understand the crucial difference between them. Many believe the difference lies in the liberal's willingness to support government spending. But that explanation falls short.
This Memorial Day, Let's not forget. Our President needs to review his history books. Maybe he thinks we are arrogant because we have taken up too much prime property in Europe to bury our dead!
